[Jack arrived at 5 or to be precise about ten minutes early. He'd been staying with the tenth regeneration of the Doctor, but unfortunately he'd since left. So Jack was eager to see him in any version he could get. He was also interested to see what sort of man he was now.
He took a seat at a table near the entrance and ordered himself a cup and a small tray of pastries for the both of them and eyed the door. He'd never been able to hide his eagerness when it came to the Doctor.]
[ the Doctor, for his part, is approximately those same ten minutes late. time keeping, as it turns out, is a lot more difficult when you've not got a time machine to do it for you. or to get you to the place you've dawdled too much to be anything but late to before you're actually late.
he arrives, though. hasn't managed to talk himself out of it, so that's something. when he does, he's decked out in grey waistcoat and bright purple tweed jacket, something a bit lighter than his sullen winter coat (though in current weather, were he not mostly immune to it, the big furred thing would have done him just as well). in he breezes, breezy temperament belying his nerves, and completely overshoots Jack. doesn't spot him in his haste to be fine and not remotely uncertain in the slightest—
a quick spin puts him nowhere in sight until - ah. ah, there you are. ]
What are you doing behind me?
[ stomp stomp stomp back over to the table... where he hovers, still on his feet, looking down at Jack, and takes a moment just to have a proper look at him. it's been an age.
